Unit Summary

Islam would be considered a false religion, not a cult.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

The one and only faith consistently revealed by God to mankind from the very beginning. Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus are all its prophets. – (How Muslims explain their religion) "Allah is our God, and Muhammad is His Prophet" – Statement of belief (Shahada) Teaching on Allah – (Muslim view)
    1. He alone is God, no Trinity
    2. No one can claim to be His son or daughter
    3. He will judge all according to how they submit to the law (Islam means submission) Gal. 2:16
    4. He chose Ishmael and his children as his chosen people
Teaching on Allah – (Muslim view)
    1. Ancient Arabian pagan religions worshipped heavenly bodies, Sabianism
    2. A black stone set in the Kaaba represented the moon god called Allah, (thus the crescent moon on Islamic flags)
    3. Muhammad destroyed all the idols in the Kaaba (360) except the one for Allah
    4. Therefore Allah is not just an Arabic name for the God of the Bible, it is an idol god.
View of Muhammad – (Muslim view)
1.The last and the greatest of all the prophets
2.God (Allah) revealed the Quran (Koran) to him by appearing to him and telling him to recite
    3. Muslims believe that the Quran and the Sunnah (Muhammad’s commentary on the Quran) are infallible and are the final and complete revelation of Allah.
    4. Without following these unerring divinely revealed works it is impossible for them to believe in or follow Allah.
    5. A third source is Muhammad’s life. If there are any questions on how they should act they must emulate the prophet
View of Muhammad – (Christian view)
    1. He is a false prophet who simply took the political laws which governed seventh-century Arabian tribes and literally made them the law of Allah, their God.
    2. Tested by the Scripture – I John 4:1-3
    3. He fails the test
    4. Who appeared to him with this new law and message? - II Corinthians 11:2-5,13-15
Cultural & Political Domination
    1. Imposes Islamic law on all the people
    2. Takes over the whole government
    3. People have no choice but to follow the Islamic code
    1. Intolerance of Christianity is practiced in many Muslim countries
The Five Pillars of Islam
    1. Affirmation: There is no God but Allah
    2. Prayer: Muslims are required to pray five times a day, kneeling and facing Mecca
    3. Almsgiving: A worthy Muslim must give 2.5 percent of his income to the poor.
    4. The Fast: Faithful Muslims fast from dawn to dusk every day during the month of Ramadan
    5. The Pilgrimage: Muslims are expected to journey to Mecca at least once in their lifetime.

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have hear that it should come; and even now already is in the world." - I John 4:1-3
