3. Major Characteristics of Cults

The fact that there are an abundance of cults in the world today and that they are growing rapidly ought not to surprise the Christian. This is a sign of Christ's coming. Read this article by Rev. 1. Deny the authority of the Scriptures by wrongly interpreting Scripture or by declaring that certain writings and teachings of men or women are equally authoritative or more authoritative than the Holy Scriptures.
2. Deny the doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
3. Deny or detract from the Deity of Christ.
4. Deny the doctrine of justification by faith and substituting a doctrine of works.
5. Claim to be the one organization to which one must belong in order to be "saved".
6. Claim to be chiefly responsible for knowing about and being responsible for the coming of
the end of this system of existence or the end of the world.
